Aidan Jon Fraser, seventeen year old singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist from Johannesburg, South Africa.

“I like to write, it’s therapeutic. Melodies and lyrics, at random times, will pop into my mind and I have write it down or record it on my voice memos before it disappears out of my head. There are so many songs that I have come up with that will never be heard because I forgot the melody, or didn’t have a phone on me to sing in to.”

His EP Lonely Girls Break Your Heart, consisting of 9 songs, are demos made using iPhone’s GarageBand.

“It’s a start. You have to start somewhere. It’s not like I have all the money for equipment or to go to studio, so I used what I had and did what I loved to do; make music. Even if it’s just using my earphone’s microphone and my phone to produce simple beats, that’s what I’m gonna do because I love to do it. Lonely Girls Break Your Heart is just the starting line. This is where I’m about to take off.”

Q: “What is your favourite song off your EP?”
A: “Probably… 12:00AM or Lonely Girls Break Your Heart, I worked pretty hard on that one. I love the lyrics, too. Fun fact, it’s original name was ‘I’m giving up on you’ until I changed it to ‘The Princess and the Pea’ until I changed it last minute to ‘Lonely Girls Break Your Heart’. I just thought it sounded better.”

Q: “Which was the hardest song to make?”
A: “Definitely Anxiety. It gave me.. anxiety haha. It just took the longest to make and was really difficult to sing.”
