Adam Joseph Jensen is a singer, songwriter and producer that went from prison inmate to successful musician in just a few years. Mixing Pop with Alternative and Electronic, the multi-instrumentalist from Boston, Massachusetts, made a name for himself with his dark and meaningful lyrics, paired with often upbeat and happy sounding music.

Inspired by The Beatles and Billy Joel, he started taking piano lessons at the age of 8 years. When he saw Kurt Cobain on MTV at the age of 12, he began playing guitar as well. Three years later, he was already playing at open mics all over New England. After he got kicked out of George Washington University and Northeastern University, he began to get off the right path, working for a bookie and selling weed. Up until his early twenties, he got into stabbings and robberies, resulting in multiple arrests. When he realized that he had to change his criminal lifestyle, he flew to Los Angeles to record music, which turned out to be a violation of his probation, leading to one last arrest.

In 2009, Adam Jensen and his friend Alex Knutsen formed the band Mission Hill, signed to the label Toucan Cove, which is part of Universal Music, and released two albums and three EPs until 2012. After this, he started his solo career in 2013, releasing two EPs that both peaked at spot 7 on the iTunes singer/songwriter album chart.

Jensen’s first big success came with the single “Sandcastles” in early 2016, reaching the first spot on the Hype Machine Popular Charts and the Soundcloud Hot & New Charts. Soon followed several other singles, gaining him much attention and a large fanbase all around the world.
