Ace Amin (formerly known as Mojo) is an American MC and battle rapper from Hyattsville, Maryland. According to music distributor DCTop20, as a kid, Ace grew up around different genres of music, with his mom playing classic oldies records, and his two older brothers playing music from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac Shakur, and Three 6 Mafia. He would replay Bone Thugs' songs and write down the lyrics in his notepad to study and memorize them. As he became more confident in memorizing rap songs, he started to write and create his own, releasing his first recording at 19 years old under the stage name “Mojo”.

Not too long after putting out his first song, though, Ace went to prison and served a 10-year sentence for armed robbery. Shortly after his release from prison in early 2018, he was interviewed by hip-hop video-journalist DJ Smallz Eyes, where Ace reflected on his experiences inside prison. Ace also talked about how he went straight to work on recording music for his 2018 album Year of the Wolf II: What’s Done in the Dark nine days after his release.

Just a few short months after releasing YOTW II, Ace made his debut on the battle rap circuit on Capital Battle Grounds in September 2018, where he quickly made a name for himself with his unorthodox, lightning-fast rhyming patterns and storytelling abilities. Within his first five battles, Ace had performed well enough to compete on higher-profile platforms like Gates of the Garden and URL. His URL debut against Fuse Da General at Banned Legacy in February 2019 earned rave reviews from fans and bloggers – including Tech 9 and JayBlac of Champion – for his extremely confident and dominant performance, proving that he would be a force to be reckoned with as part of URL’s Class of 2019.
