About Abenaa

Singer-songwriter Abenaa Frempong was born in Accra, Ghana to a Ghanaian father and Trinidadian mother. She is best known for her penned hit, “The Way That You Love,” released on Vanessa Williams third studio album, December 1994’s The Sweetest Days, nabbing her a Grammy nomination and Kim Stockwood’s sophomore album title track single, “12 Years Old,” which was released on March 20, 1999. Her solo debut album, April 2000’s Tuesday’s Child, which fittingly translates to “a female child born on Tuesday” derived from her Ashanti name. Her debut single, “Song 4 U” charted at No. 37 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay. Subsequent singles from that album, “Simple Life,” “Rain” and the Led Zeppelin rendition called “S2H (Stairway to Heaven),” all released independently on her own label, Nkunim.
