A Silent Film are an English alternative rock band from Oxford. The band consists of Robert Stevenson (vocals/piano/guitar) and Spencer Walker (drums).

They released three studio albums: The City That Sleeps (2008), Sand & Snow (2012) and the homonym A Silent Film (2015), altogether with the EPs The Projectionist (2007) and New Year (2015).

At the end of 2017, the band posted a note on Facebook and a full text on their website, stating that “A Silent Film is on indefinite break” after 12 years.
