Born on December 12, 1976 in Keelung City, Taiwanese singer-songwriter and producer Adia (real name Zhang Jian-Wei) started recording his own demos in 1993 (which would later be released in a 2006 CD) before going on to release a Taiwanese Hokkien-language solo debut single – “I Didn’t Study” (我沒讀書) – in 1999. Since then, he’s helped produce and write multiple songs for Mandopop artists like Coco Lee, Jolin Tsai, Elva Hsiao, and Da Mouth.
