Detroit rap trio 5 Elementz got its start in the 1990s. The original members were Thyme, Mudd and Detroit legend Proof (Deshaun Holton). 5 Elementz' producer was the late J. Dilla aka Jay Dee. Their first full length album, The Album Time Forgot, dropped in 1998, the same year Proof’s best friend Eminem was recording his first major label album. The trio dropped an EP and two albums with Proof. In 2008, two years after his death, 5 Elementz, now a duo, dropped …Will Be Televised.
