3Ds was a New Zealand indie rock band active between 1988 and 1997, who took their name from the three founding members all having names starting with the letter “D”. The band, considered part of the Dunedin sound scene, was known for their noisy songs and oft-chaotic live performances. The group put out three albums before disbandment: Hellzapoppin (1992), The Venus Trail (1993), and Strange News From the Angels (1997), as well as several EPs. The members were David Mitchell (vocals, guitar), David Saunders (vocals, guitar), Denise Roughan (bass, vocals), and Dominic Stones (drums).
