Cold Lesson

I will never let you conquer what's left of my heart and mind
I'll look within myself to find the right place in life
Though the decision was there, I let myself be blinded with emotion
I can see it all too clear
I can't stress it enough
You are a curse upon us all
No wonder why I have no faith at all
So I think its time to settle the score, let you be nothing more than the reason for me to have this hate
In by choosing to be free, you will finally be a cold figure in the distance
Without me to latch onto, you turn frail and fall to the ground
With courage and my vigor, I can stand for myself once again
Although your time with me was short, I felt aged by decades
You tried to destroy my youth and I almost let that happen
That's my lesson learned
